Executive Board Meeting Minutes November 12, 2009 Secretary- Monica Wallace -Next General Membership meeting November 18th. Location moved to Ricardo’s Terero’s in Factoria for this meeting because Angelo’s was not available. Treasurer- Joan Inge - Bank balances reported. - Working on 2008 tax return. Joan picking up tax return from accountant on November 13. Will be mailed on Monday. 1st VP- Mike Tobin - IMS booth is staffed and Monica will coordinate set up. - Mike will obtain passes for Nico, Katie and Monica (all will be supervisors) plus 3 additional volunteer passes. - Spokane show will be $500. Nico talked to Jim Engel regarding splitting a booth with Inland Speed. Total cost for WMRRA, with electrical, will be approximately $285. - Tobin will call Jason Talley to see if he will spearhead Spokane show. - Class sponsorship – many coming back. Varying degrees of interest. - Darren Beatty – Mike has communicated with Darren regarding him leaving early. - Mike has Vintage awards from the banquet. Duncan will pick up - Mike still waiting to hear back on poster printing. Nico will talk with Brandon Bones regarding pictures of top 5 plates for poster. - Newsletter before IMS. Tobin asked Monica and Nico to contribute on newsletter. - I-Contact to continue to be newsletter service. - Class sponsorship – Some companies have expressed interest in sponsoring classes and having prize money available. 2nd VP- Jeff Wieand - Jeff received approval from insurance regarding 600cc gocarts racing at a few WMRRA events. Already ˝ dozen in Washington with others in California. Could see 15-25 carts. They will do their advertising and promoting. - All equipment back from Spokane. Katie will work with Russ to get clothing for IMS. - Special thanks to Liz and Barry for a great banquet. - Rules committee Sunday at 9am. - Discussed Claud Jinks and Tim O’Mahoney are both interested in being Chief Tech. 3rd VP- Katie Field - Motion – 2010 Expert membership and race license fees shall be $100. Accepted by all present. - Motion – 2010 Novice Race License and Membership shall be $80 with classroom fees remaining at $50. Accepted by all present. - Motion – 2010 membership without race license shall be $50, Weekend Race License shall be $30, and Out of State Number Reserve shall be $30. Accepted by all present. - Will discuss race fees in January. President- Nico Tomacelli - Spokane – Bucky Austin no longer running Spokane Raceway Park. Nico will continue working with Spokane County to try to secure dates for 2010. - Pacific offered a July weekend. Inclined to take it so that we have guaranteed 7 races in 2010 in the event WMRRA is unable to secure dates in Spokane. WMRRA can give 30 days notice to drop October. Still discussing pricing with Pacific Raceways. - Proposal – Add July 17th and 18th weekend in Pacific and still work on Spokane dates – Approved by all present - Endurance only at Spokane in May if there is adequate preregistration and we have Spokane dates. Mike Tobin would like to work on money sponsorships to attract endurance racers. - December E-Board meeting – 1st 2nd 3rd VPs – BUDGETS DUE. Nico encouraged being thoughtful about expenses. Airfence Committee- Nico Tomacelli - Airfence repairs and replacement as funds available for 2010 season. Novice Rep- Jake Frame - Not present - No report Supersport Rep- Ross Delong - Has heard from one person regarding input on rule change proposals. Superbike Rep- Mike McConaghy - No report Vintage Rep- Duncan Craick - AHMRA will run a round in Portland the first weekend in May. Open to all singles and twins. Additionally, there is a super motard class. - Discussed Vintage schedule for WMRRA. Duncan will work with Nico on what would be the best dates. - Duncan announced that Les Cook passed away and would like to offer condolences to Les’ family. Good of WMRRA - Jeff Wieand –Aaron Frank, of Motorcyclist Magazine, attended and raced in the Sounds of the Past Event in August. Jeff read the article Aaron wrote for the magazine and thought he did a great job. - Congratulations to Allister McKinnon for making the crash page of Road Racing World.
