Executive Board Meeting Minutes Aug 13, 2008 Secretary- Debbie Hallanger -We have a new Membership Meeting location for the August 20th meeting. It will be held at Barlee's Dining in Edmonds. Treasurer- Joan Inge -Bank balances reported. 1st VP- Mike Tobin -KISW was at the track for the SOTP event and did 15 live broadcasts throughout the day. -IMS is booked and we can get a discount if we pay by next weekend. This will be the same size space as last year. -Mike has submitted a press release in Road Racing World, hopefully they will print it this time. -AFM will be testing AMB at Infineon at the their next round. -We would like to re-instate a newsletter for the membership. Volunteers are needed to help Mike write stories and keep it going. -Proposal to provide Jacob Lieman and JD Beach race licenses, pending paperwork completion. For: Debbie, Joan, Ariana, Mike and Nico Abstain: Bill and Duncan Not present: Ross and Brad -We are requesting that the membership police themselves and follow basic Supersport and sportsman conduct. -Discussion on events for the lunch time break during events. Ideas are welcome. 2nd VP- Bill Hallanger -Oil spill that took place on Sunday, August 10, was discussed and appropriate action will be taken. -Tech report: ALL novices will be required to go through the tech tent next race weekend. -A 6 hour Endurance race will be held on Sunday August 31st, with a full race schedule on Saturday. -Discussion on track re-entry at turn 4b. There will be cones to direct your direction and you will ONLY be allowed to re-enter the track when the corner worker waves you on. -Discussion on whether the second novice heat was a completed event. The board has decided that it was completed, it will count as a heat, and will count for graduation. If you did not start the race and need to file a refund, you will have to obtain verification from another rider since there were no scoring results. -Proposals for rule changes are being accepted. See Section Y of the rulebook for details on how they should be submitted. Send them to 2ndvp@wmrra.com. 3rd VP- Ariana Burgess -New endurance forms are ready. ALL members of your team need to fill out the waiver, page 2, INCLUDING PIT CREW! If you have more than 4 riders, you can add them to the back of the form when you mail it in. -Airfence donations, Injured Rider donations and pit usage income for June and August are reported. -No major problems at the Round 4 scoring. -At the Round 3 race weekend, the Lightweight Superbike race was red flagged BEFORE the checkered. The results will be decided by the previous lap. President- Allister MacKinnon -Request that the Race Director make an effort to change the practice groups. He will work with 3rd VP to see what times will work best to break up the practice sessions more evenly. -Discussion on racers who get lapped early on in the large grid races. -Thanks to the vintage SOTP series for racing with us on August 9th. The LeMans race was fun and we look forward to having them back next year. -Discussion on pit lane area designated to bed brakes and practice starts. -Still having talks with Spokane and hope to secure 2009 dates by the end of this year. Airfence -Contact Russ Wieand (Airfence Coordinator) to schedule Airfence set-up and tear down. He needs 48 hours notice before the days you want to volunteer. Novice Rep- Nico Tomacelli -He will review the on-track NRS with 2Fast to make improvements for next year. -Nico had the webmaster pull the new novice information, encouraging new riders to visit us at the IMS and sign up for next year. Supersport Rep- Ross Delong -Not present -No report Superbike Rep- Brad Gua -Not present -No report Vintage Rep- Duncan Craick -Thanks to all who made the SOTP race day run smoothly. Ariana, for getting the results fast. Joan, for getting the checks ready quickly so all winners had their prizes when they left. -They hope to have a special guest back next year. -The SOTP Series will be at Miller soon. Good of WMRRA -Voting will open online after the Membership Meeting on August 20th. -Congrats to Mike Sullivan for track record at Pacific Raceways. -Get well to Ross DeLong, Tom Wertman, Jake Rower, and Brad Richards who were injured at the track during Round 4.
